Ed Sheeran hits back at criticism over his new tattoo

After Ed Sheeran showed off his new lion tattoo on Instagram earlier this week, eyebrows we’re quizzically raised all across the cyber world.

Much like Marmite, fans were divided over the newest in Ed’s extensive tattoo collection, commenting on his post that they either loved or hated it.

Even Keane singer Tom Chaplin weighed in on the situation, tweeting: "Please tell me this is a prank. Cos if it isn't, @edsheeran has a really bad picture of a lion on his chest FOREVER."

Ohhh he even @-ed him, making sure he heard his catty comments – meow!

But the Lego House singer has hit back at criticisms over his new ink and defended his decision.

In response to Tom’s tweet, he said: “I like it and that's the only opinion that matters.”

And followed up with several other tweets, saying:

“All this kerfuffle over a tattoo. If it was black and white saying a clever phrase in a language I can't speak no one would've said anything”

And:

“It's not the first weird tattoo I've got and it won't be the last, but I like all of them. I'm also eating a bowl of pasta now so byeziez x.”

He’s not wrong there, as he already has a long list of ‘out-there’ tattoos including a phoenix, a teddy bear, the Heinz Ketchup label, and many, many more.

Ed’s tattoo artist, Kevin Paul, told The Sun: "Ed is nowhere near done. There are going to be even bigger tattoos in the next few months.

“He’s going to have his entire back covered, and then across his ribs. It’ll be incredible.”
