Ed Sheeran announced his engagement to his childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn over the weekend, with a VERY cute post on Instagram.

Sharing a picture of him planting a big kiss on Cherry’s cheek, he wrote: “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”

And, while we’re very happy for the couple, Ed’s engagement could have a huge effect on the future of his music career.

He’s revealed he plans on quitting music when he starts a family.

“My ambition is going to go to zero as soon as I have kids,” he told the Daily Star.

“I’m going to be like, ‘I do not really care anymore as I have another life to take care of’.”

He also added: “It is totally understandable because you have children and your ambition shifts to be like, ‘I want to be a good father.”

Given that Ed’s basically taken up every spot in the charts since he released his third album, ➗, this is probably music to a lot of artists’ ears.

But we just want to know which of his ballads Ed will serenade Cherry with at the wedding.

Recently, everyone lost their minds over this guy who is Ed's 100% IRL (not actually) identical twin.

Wesley Byrne appeared on This Morning and opened up about what life’s like when you look exactly like Ed. And it sounds quite stressful.

He revealed he regularly gets mobbed by fans thinking he’s the real deal, and even gets asked for autographs while he’s at his job in Asda.
