Earlier this year Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith made a pact to lose weight for their Australian tours.
Although they’ve shed the pounds – with Sam losing an incredible two stone in two weeks – it looks like their efforts haven’t turned them into supermodels just yet…
We caught up with Mike Rosenberg, aka Passenger, who has known Ed since he was 15 when they met playing at a venue in Cambridge. Mike tells us: “There is a lot of pressure to look a certain way…what I love about Sam and Ed is they’re great looking guys but they’re not supermodels. Because they’re so talented it speaks for itself and I love that comes through – it’s not a One Direction boyband situation. It is all about music with those guys, which is fantastic.”
Passenger has toured the world with Ed and in the future he’d love to work with BRIT award winner Sam Smith. “I think Sam and Ed are brilliant, I just hope they carry on making great songs for people to enjoy for years to come – maybe we could start our own boy band.” That would be incredible.
