Ed Sheeran: “Treating my parents is the best thing about fame”

Despite being one of the biggest music stars in the world right now, with a long list of hit singles, sold-out tours and devoted fans, Ed Sheeran said that treating his parents is his favourite things about fame, making our hearts melt just that little bit more.

While talking about his recent sold-out Wembley gigs, The Thinking Out Loud singer told The Mirror that the most rewarding part of it all is: “Being able to really pay my parents – not just financially – but being able to give them the things they wouldn’t have ever dreamed of...”

Despite all his persistent hard work and sofa surfing on his rise to the top, Ed still insists that the best bit of his new fortune isn’t sleeping in a bed of his own. He went on: "Seeing them going off doing their thing is probably the best thing that’s come out of my career. They’re going around the world and for me to see that is great.”

Seriously Ed, can you stop being so nice please, you’re making the rest of us look bad.

On the topic of his Wembley gigs, Ed said: “I’m not really doing big gigs for the money. I’m doing them because it’s good to play Wembley.

“Not many people have played Wembley. If you look at the list, it’s like Madonna, Eminem, Elton John, Queen... It’s quite a small list so it’s cool.”
