There’s nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition, and it seems Ed Sheeran thinks so too.

He revealed that he wants his singing career to catch up with the success of his pal Taylor Swift, sparking potential rivalry between the two.

"At the moment, Taylor is a benchmark in America and a lot of other countries. In America, I want to catch up with her,” Ed told Entertainment Weekly.

"If I passed her, I think she'd then get more competitive and do more stuff. I think it would only be healthy.

“Like her surpassing me in sales in the U.S., that's healthy for me because I now want to get up to that point."

Yeah, we wouldn’t mind reaching Taylor’s level of success either Ed, especially after she’s just smashed the Vevo world record with her Bad Blood music video receiving 20.1 million views in 24 hours- that's the most ever.

The woman is unstoppable.

Good work Taylor.
