EL James to write the next Fifty Shades of Grey film?

It sounds like there's ALREADY a load of drama around the next Fifty Shades film.

Understatement of the year alert: Fifty Shades of Grey: The Movie did well. So well, it has grossed a whopping $300 million worldwide, and Sam Taylor Johnson, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, instead of worrying about their "credibility", are laughing all the way to the bank.

And when a film does well, what does Hollywood do? Try and bang out a sequel as quickly as possible. But unfortunately the film version of Fifty Shades: Darker is already facing some problems.

Firstly, Sam Taylor Johnson was rumoured to be pulling out after tabloid rumours of "toxic" on-set disagreements with EL James, who wanted creative control of the films. And now it's surfaced that EL James is getting even MORE control the second time around - as she's demanding to write the script.

Insiders have told Variety that the sequel is being delayed because of disagreements between James and Universal executives. The film is said to "undergo a dramatic creative reshuffling" before production can start, with Sam Taylor Johnson and script-writer Kelly Marcel said to be expected to opt out. If that happens, James will write the entire film - and she's never written a film before.

This could be kind of bad news for fans of the franchise - as anyone who's watched it will attest, some of the cringiest bits were those plucked straight from the book (we actually lol-ed when Jamie Dornan said "I'm Fifty Shades of f**cked up"). Does this mean the whole dialogue will be littered with inner goddesses doing the salsa, and "Holy craps"?

Probably not, because at the moment, Universal execs are saying nothing has been confirmed:

“The studio had always intended to sit down with the author after the film opened and discuss next steps, and that has not yet happened".

In other news, Kendall Jenner is rumoured to be up for a role in the next film - but only if Sam Taylor-Johnson stays as the director - she's apparently a "huge fan" of the model and reality star.
