But ahead of her set at the Birmingham Arena on Saturday 4th May, Ellie revealed that she actually has a secret connection to the city - her family live there!

Ellie said she was "very excited to be back", before making the revelation, "I love the Brummie crowd. All my family live in Birmingham," she said, confirming that her mum lives in Solihull too. "They’ve all lived in Birmingham for years and years. My sister, my mum, my nanna and my uncle." How incredible!

Ellie also revealed that she "can't wait" to move back to the UK in May, having lived in New York recently. She told us that NYC is "too hectic", but she's been able to enjoy a few home comforts thanks to an English shop down the road.

She also spoke about the inspiration behind her newest single, '16', which she co-wrote with up and coming singer Rae. "We wrote it a few years ago actually, so Rae wouldn’t have been far off 16.

"We wrote it about being with the same person since you were young. I realised that a lot of my songs focused on slightly later in life where you go on dates or date someone for a while and then you date someone else. You know, you kind of have that luxury of being able to, you know, be with different people and then finally realise who the one is."

She continued, "But this song was about quite a few of my friends' situations where they simply met the person they loved when they were really young and are still with them. And I don’t think that story is told that much these days on the radio.

"So I just thought it was a nice idea. And then it's got 60s nostalgia in there as well, it's just like a fun song."

We can't wait to hear it!
