It makes us feel all warm and fuzzy when the best celebrities fall in love and the latest couple who make us want to shout “squee” are Ellie Goulding and Dougie Poynter.
Ellie and her McBusted star man had a double celebration this weekend – a day after Valentine’s Day on Sunday, Dougie celebrated four years of sobriety.

Proudly posting a picture of her bloke wearing a yellow bandana on Instagram, Ellie wrote: “This amazing man is four years sober today. What a legend @idougahole.”
Dougie has made no secret of his battle with alcohol in the past and in McFly’s autobiography he revealed he attempted suicide in February 2011 before entering rehab. His troubles came to a head after he split from his The Saturdays ex-girlfriend Frankie Sandford a few months before his suicide bid.
But the star has worked hard to successfully overcome his demons and went on to win I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2011. Dougie confirmed he was dating Ellie last year and the couple sparked speculation they were engaged after Ellie was seen wearing a sparkling ring whilst out and about. They denied they were set to walk down the aisle at the time but Ellie says they will get married eventually.
When asked by The Sun on Sunday recently if they plan to say “I do”, Ellie said: “I mean eventually, like. Eventually, yeah. But not now as we both have lots to do.”
