Elton John was not a happy bunny during a gig at Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester last night.

The* Rocket Man* went on a foul-mouthed rant during his show when he thought the stewards were clamping down too hard on people trying to have a bit of fun.

Elton shouted, "Lighten up, it's not fking China so piss off! You get a fking uniform on and you think you're Hitler... we're not having it, piss off!”

Understandably, the stewards were left pretty upset by being compared to Hitler, and one steward called Maria ran off the stage crying.

Elton, realising the error of his ways, quickly apologised to Maria, and blamed the organisers for giving the stewards misdirection: "I do apologise, whoever told the stewards to do that, its their f**king fault and not hers and I apologise profusely. If people want to wave their arms in the air, let them. I apologise for my outburst."

But an apology wasn’t all Maria got – Elt got her up on stage and she sat with him on his piano stool as he dedicated a song to her.

We still think Maria might be spending a fair amount on therapy after this incident, mind you…
