There were rumours circulating that Emma Watson was secretly dating Prince Harry, all thanks to an Australian publication.

According to the former Harry Potter actress she isn’t dating the ginger Prince. Emma took to her Twitter account to make a very public announcement to the world by saying: “WORLD (SIC) Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!

“also..... marrying a Prince not a prerequisite for being a Princess…”

The first cryptic tweet received over 35,000 retweets and considering celebrities don’t usually address outlandish rumours – well unless you’re Amber Rose or Khloe Kardashian. So although she’s going to play Belle in the new Beauty and the Beast film and will become a “princess” through her character, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen in real-life any time soon.

The story originated in the Aussie mag Woman's Day, which quoted a source saying: "Harry didn't want her to feel like she was put on the spot. A party also shows he’s fun and not stuffy.

Emma tweeted the whole world.

"He’s smitten – and it’s more than Emma's looks." The site reported the pair had been secretly dating since the 24-year-old actress parted way with her rugby player boyfriend Matthew Janney at the end of last year.

Never mind, although you and Prince Harry would have made a nice couple.

Speaking on her role as Belle, Emma posted on Facbook: "I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'. My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma xx."
