The Empire Awards was happened in London last night and the stars threw on some sparkly clothes to celebrate the best of last year's films.

Yesterday's ceremony was the 21st Empire Awards and, in addition to a load of trophys being handed out, the celebs didn't disappoint in delivering some delicious gossip.

Here's what we learned at this year's event.

The Star Wars cast suffered some embarrassing moments on set

John Boyega made a right arse of himself

John, who plays Finn, almost split his trousers after over enthusiastically jumping in the air.

He said: “There was a snowspeeder scene that didn’t make it in the movie but will be in the DVD extras, and I jumped up and split my trousers.”

Cheeky!

Even C-3PO gets turned on

Anthony Daniels, who plays droid C-3PO, almost got a little too overexcited when filming.

He said: “It was when in the oil bath, it started coming up inside the leg and getting very personal,” before joking: “You can’t print that. [It was] a very private moment”

Oops! We did.

Daisy Ridley WILL cry when she wants to

Daisy, who plays Rey, was almost left mortified when she had a case of the boo-hoos in front of Harrison Ford, who portrays Han Solo.

The actress was on set with the hunky Hollywood actor when an object falling on her head almost pushed her claustrophobia and tiredness to extreme levels and made her cry.

She said: “There was one time that I almost cried. This scene where me and Harrison were in the cockpit, it took a really long time, and I was very tired, and it was very claustrophobic.

“[A part of the set] fell on my head and I was literally like, ‘I can’t cry in front of Harrison Ford’, but you know when you’re so close?”

Luckily Harrison either didn’t notice, or turned a blind eye, and Daisy added: “He was very kind but I was just like, ‘Come on, he’s a professional,’ and there’s me, like, 'Ah-hah! I’m just so young and naive.'”

It’s all in the past now, Daisy!

Jon Boyega finds Star Wars totally normal… but also really strange

Although John was happy to be back on set, he finds Star Wars a bit odd.

The actor says he was happy to be back with his co-stars and making another film from the franchise but admits certain aspects of filming the movie made him feel uneasy.

On returning, he said: “It’s nuts but, you know, it feels normal, but it feels surreal at the same time, because it’s a different story, the characters have developed and it’s a darker story too.

“It feels different but the same, it’s Star Wars, here we go again.”

Right, so it feels different but the same. Are we all clear on that?

Matt Damon is invincible

Alright, it may not be Star Wars, but Matt Damon is COMMITTED when it comes to working on the latest Bourne movie - he’s been working ten day weeks even though he admits that’s not even a thing.

Matt, who plays Jason Bourne, said: “We’re at the end of the movie so we’re working like a ten day week this week, basically.

“I don’t know if you can say that, I don’t know if that’s a thing, a ten day week, but we worked Sunday and we’re working through.

“You know, but that’s how these things always wind up and we know what we’re getting into when we make them, and it’s gone really smoothly. We’re really happy with what we’re getting.”

We’ll leave those long weeks to you thanks, Matt.
