The Eurovision Song Contest happened last night - and if you weren't watching the annual crazy singing fest (c'mon, where WERE you?!), fit Swede Mans Zelmerlow won with Heroes.
In what could have been the most aesthetically pleasing Eurovision line-up in years (seriously, nearly EVERYONE was fit), Mans, with his funny animated visuals and pretty cheery pop song, beat Russia's Polina Gagarina (Russian Taylor Schilling in a white dress), who came second, followed by Italy (an operatic three-piece), Belgium (a song that sounded JUST like Lorde's Royals), and Australia, who made their first Eurovision appearance with The MakeMakes, and pretty much blew everyone out of the water voice-vise.
We DIDN'T go home with 'nil points', but our act Electro Velvet came 24th out of 27 with five points. Speaking to the BBC, they seemed chipper about the result:
"Obviously it is disappointing to finish on the right hand side of the board, but we have had the most amazing, brilliant, unforgettable time being part of this unique competition in this special year", they said.
"We put our hearts and souls into representing our country and would like to thank everyone back at home and around the world that got behind us.
"It really means a lot and of course we also want to congratulate Sweden and Mans Zelmerlow on their well-deserved victory."
Like a lot of people on Twitter, we were surprised at the lack of 'novelty' acts - we had no Polish milkmaids or singers cheesier than a suitcase stuffed full of brie - so we just had to make do with the fabulousness of Conchita Wurst, who performed two tracks from her new album, You Are Unstoppable and club track Firestorm, and was totally amazing.
