The Apprentice is almost midway through the current series, and last year’s candidate Sanjay Sood-Smith has been watching closely. But he thinks something is missing…
Speaking exclusively to heat at the MyFaceMyBody Awards, held at London’s Park Lane’s Intercontinental Hotel, Sanjay said: "I don’t think it’s as cut-throat this year as it was last year – by this time in our series, nine people had been fired and he’s just done one a week this year. I think Lord Sugar is going a bit soft in his later life."
He says the show is lacking explosive characters, adding: "In our year there were lots of fights and feistiness but I feel it’s lacking it this year. I’ve seen their Twitter profiles and before the show had even started half of them were advertising their agents, half were posting topless selfies on Instagram. I think the bunch of candidates are trying to develop media zizz – they’ve seen the success of previous candidates that have done very well in the public eye since the show and maybe they want a piece of it and are focusing on that this year."
Sanjay, who has launched his new food range business Tuk In Foods told us he is backing Charleine as an early winner, before adding: "I also like Scott, he’s quite fit as well, and Sam bless him, he didn’t do very well last week – I think his card might be marked. And Selina doesn’t seem to be doing herself any favours. Richard is quite good but he’s a bit full of himself. I quite like Brett."
