Louis Tomlinson has lashed out angrily on Twitter after an article claimed that he was supporting gay Apple CEO Tim Cook.

The One Direction star was papped wearing a T-shirt bearing a rainbow Apple icon, which a reporter suggested showed his support for the company leader who recently came out as homosexual.

However, Louis somehow concluded the piece claimed HE was gay and got pretty antsy.

An enraged Louis directly tweeted the journalist behind the piece:

He finished with a resounding: "Fucking ridiculous I even have to tweet that shit !"

Jenn replied:

She continued: "...@Louis_Tomlinson We were merely speculating as to whether you'd shown your support to a brave man facing some persecution...

"...@Louis_Tomlinson For his decision to come out in public recently. I'd like to remind my readers..."

"...@Louis_Tomlinson That being called 'gay' should never be insulting & that standing up for ‪#LGBT rights is an admirable thing to do..."

The episode comes just a few days after bandmate Harry Styles said that gender's not important when it comes to choosing a partner, which has sparked discussions about the sexuality of the rest of the group's members.

Anyhow, hopefully this whole debacle will teach Louis to sharpen up his speed-reading skills so that hordes of Directioners don't have to witness him making a mountain out of a molehill on Twitter again.
