Tongues starting wagging last month when TOWIE star Ferne McCann was spotted on a 'date night' with Love Island 2018 star Charlie Brake, and now, after Charlie's fellow Islander Zara McDermott made the revelation that Ferne had messaged Charlie whilst he was still with Ellie Brown, Ferne has hit back.
Revealing to OK! Magazine that their recent night out wasn't the first time they'd met, Ferne admitted she'd met Charlie in a bar back in 2015, where Charlie asked her for a selfie at the time.
After Ellie's Love Island bestie Zara McDermott implied that Ferne 'messaged' Charlie whilst they were still together, Ferne told the publication, "I don’t know where she got it from, all I can think is that she’s referring to the picture he sent us together back in 2015, but that was completely harmless and not flirtatious at all.
"It was a really careless thing of Zara to say. I’m too busy being a good mum to message someone who’s in a relationship."
Despite this, Ferne, who welcomed her daughter Sunday in November 2017, admitted she did enjoy her evening with Charlie, saying, "I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, or if we’ll go on a date. He's very handsome and a nice guy".
