As Bob Geldof showed last week, even the saddest of times can bring about healing as he got engaged to long-term partner Jeanne Marine just a few days after daughter Peaches Geldof was found dead at the age of 25.

Now it's his eldest child Fifi Trixibelle Geldof's time to find some happiness as she announced last night that she is engaged to her boyfriend Andrew Robertson.

She uploaded a picture of a beautiful diamond ring to her Instagram, captioning it, "Boydonegood".

Fifi, 31, and Andrew, 33, have been together for about a year and are reportedly planning to tie the knot next summer.

"They're going to hold the wedding in July next year," a friend of the pair told the Daily Mail. Another close friend added: "I think we all need a happy family event now."

Yesterday, PR professional Fifi and her bridesmaids were set to meet designer Jasper Conran, who is in charge of making her wedding dress.

It comes after fashion supermodel Jerry Hall spilled the beans on Sir Bob proposing to Jeanne.

"Bob has proposed. She is over the moon," the mother of Georgia Jagger said.

"Jeanne Marine has been a rock and a tower of strength over this. I’m so excited for her I am bursting to tell someone."

Jerry added: "Bob and Jeanne have been through hell, but they are determined something positive will come out of it.

"After all the sadness, we need something to focus on which will bring joy and light."

Congratulations to Fifi and Andrew.
