Gabby Allen has spoken out about the shocking racist abuse she’s been receiving from people on social media since leaving Love Island with new boyfriend Marcel Somerville.

She’s been subjected to vile trolling since she returned from the villa, who targeted Gabby for her choice to date someone from another race.

Speaking to Eddie Nestor on BBC Radio London, Gabby opened up about the disgusting torrent of abuse, saying: “I can’t get my head around it, I can’t get the thought process.”

“As a public figure now, for some mental reason, people think they can have an opinion on your life… as everyone seems to think they know who I am they think they can comment.

“It never for once crossed my mind that’d come out to any sort of comment on me going out with a black guy. Maybe that is me being ridiculously naïve. The people I surround myself with, I know I’d be supported whoever I went out with.”

“That people think that... it’s heartbreaking”.

And speaking about boyfriend Marcel, she said: “Marcel’s been really supportive. I don’t think he’s read his direct messages. He hasn’t had anything bad. He supports me all the way.

When Eddie Nestor asked her what she thought this said about the society we live in in the 21st century, Gabby said: “I thought we were becoming less small minded. I’m not trying to be a spokeswoman for racism, I just never thought I’d have this situation sprung upon me.”

This all comes after Gabby revealed the extent of the trolling in an Instagram video.

She said: "I've grown up in multicultural and LGBTQIA environments all my life," she said. "To know this is still a thing... I'm mind-blown."

"Hopefully it doesn't, but if it continues, I'll have no choice but to publicly name and shame every single one of you."
