We can’t lie, we were really looking forward to seeing what the wedding of James Argent and Gemma Collins was going to look like, but it seems we’ll have to wait a little bit longer as we’re told the GC is postponing plans for their nuptials until Arg is healthy again.
“Gem has finally pumped the brakes on the wedding plans,” an insider tells us. “Arg already feels as though a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. She'd been racing ahead even though they weren't engaged, but after he really made her listen to where he’s at with his addiction struggles, she’s decided she has no choice but to slow things down.”
Arg, 32, checked into rehab for the third time at the beginning of the year to help with addiction issues after two overdose scares, and we’re told his girlfriend is keen to ensure he is back to full health before even considering future plans.
“It’s heartbreaking for her because she doesn’t want to waste any time and wants them to get married and start a family together ASAP. But she’s also taking into his health into account and knows Arg getting better is more important than anything. She really loves him and wants it to work – she’s loved his recent public declarations of love for her.”

Making a change from previous harsh comments about his girlfriend, Arg posted a touching tribute to the GC on Valentine’s Day.
“I’m so lucky to have a one in a million and very special girlfriend like you,” he wrote. “You’ve stuck by me through my best and my worst times. You love me just as much when I’m obese as when I’m skinny. Your loyalty and support means everything. I’m gonna make it up to you and Turn things around. I’ll be the best partner I can be. Love you always, Arg.”

Thirty-nine-year-old Gemma has her own plans for the summer, as she recently posted a video of herself in gym gear saying, “I’ve seen Adele this morning she looks fantastic. I’m doing a boxing class today – trying to get the curves in for summer.”
And while she sounds positive, our source explains, “Gem would love to say that the wedding doesn’t matter to her but it does, and if Arg can’t promise he’ll go through with it when he's better, then she fears they will have to make some big decisions about their future.”
