The Love Islander has opened up about her troubled childhood

Georgia Steel took some flack for her persistent ''m so loyal' claims, especially after she shot herself in the foot by kissing Jack Fowler behind best pal Laura Anderson's back.

In fact, Georgia 'loyal' Steel even became a HILARIOUS meme.

But now the 20-year-old has opened up about her estranged father and how she was her mum's rock after he walked out when Georgia was just three years old.

She revealed that this experience is what makes her feel so strongly about loyalty.

Speaking to The Sun Online, Georgia said: “It was really, really hard.

"It’s sad, and it’s 100% impacted on how I am now and my relationships. I wouldn’t wish what has happened to me on anyone."

She added: "“I had to be strong for my mum, even at the age of four, I was my mum’s rock, I gave my mum meaning. It has made me stronger, it really has.

"If I’m honest with you, the whole loyalty thing, that is something my mum has brought me up with. To always be loyal to whoever you’re with."

Aww Georgia, we're welling up here.

Georgia's dad is professional jockey Rodney Lapin who she continues to have a tricky relationship with. Apparently, the pair haven't seen each other since she left the villa.

When Josh Denzel broke Georgia's heart by re-coupling with Kazimir Crossley, feelings of rejection no doubt came flooding back to Georgia.

She concluded: "100% it brings back the feeling of being unwanted."

Georgia is still with new boyfriend Sam Bird and it looks like he's a flawless example of loyalty, so we hope things work out for the pair.
