2015 has been the year of Gigi Hadid. After storming the runways at fashion week and being given her Angel wings by Victoria’s Secret, she’s only gone and landed the cover of British Vogue.
Gigi, 20, is the cover star of the high fashion mag’s January issue and in the frank interview, she doesn’t hold back on the critics who’ve previously criticised her body shape.
“Yeah, I'm an athletic person but I love my body because I know what it's been through to be what it is, and honestly I'm not going to change for someone that is depressed about their life,” Gigi told Vogue.
“The Victoria's Secret Angels aren't going anywhere; I'm not going anywhere; plus-sized models aren't going anywhere.”
Last month, Gigi took to her Instagram to stand up for herself after she was trolled online.
“Yes, I have boobs, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I'm not asking for special treatment,” she wrote. “I’m fitting into the sample sizes.”
In the interview, Gigi also talks about her BFF Kendall Jenner, describing her as “more guarded”.
“I don't want to say [Kendall is] outgoing, because she is really outgoing once you get to know her,” Gigi said. “And when we're both having fun, she makes me a lot more spontaneous. It's a good balance. But neither of us likes to stay out past 11.”
WHAT? It’s not as if they need more beauty sleep. But we still love you, Gigi. Loads.
