It's been a difficult few months for E! presenter Giuliana Rancic.
First, there was the controversy around her comments about Zendaya on the network's show Fashion Police, which saw Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin quit.
Then she faced a lot of criticism about her slender frame during her appearance at the Golden Globes in January, with rumours of eating disorders flying around the internet.
But now Giuliana is fighting back - telling People that the attention around her weight has gotten "out of hand".
Rancic, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, and also underwent a masectomy, is healthy today, but says that the cancer-suppressing medicine she is taking has had an effect on her body, and made it hard for her to put on weight.
"Some people were saying, 'The cancer is probably back,' " she revealed. "And they were accusing me of every eating disorder. I thought to myself, 'God, if someone really thought I had an eating disorder, what a horrible way to approach it.' "
She added that the constant attention around her weight was "really hurtful", and that there was nothing she could do about it:
"I'm sorry that some people think I'm disgustingly skinny, as they put it, but there's nothing I can do. I'm lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine." "I look in the mirror and it's hard for me," she admitted "I am really thin. I want to look fit and beautiful and sexy, and I can't."
And while Rancic says she never wanted her weight to "distract from what I do", she said the attention around it has got so bad, a major publication refused to feature her because she was "too skinny":
"That was really hurtful," she says. "I thought, 'Wow, I'm on cancer medication. I'm doing the best that I can.' "
The presenter, who is releasing a memoir called Going Off Script in April, is hoping the comments will die down after speaking out.
"I eat more than any of my friends," she added. "I eat a very robust, healthy, balanced diet and dessert almost every night. I'm not hiding from anything."
