She’s the powerhouse who brought sex toys, lotions and mood-boosting potions to Hollywood and, much to our utter delight, Gwyneth Paltrow also majorly tongue-wagged about what her A-list exes are like in bed. There is NO beating around the, ahem, bush, with Gwynnnie, and Heat loves her for it.
And again last week, Gwyneth couldn’t help but slip Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt’s name into an interview she had with Vanity Fair magazine, describing her former flame, whom she split with in 1997, as ‘very intriguing’, comparing him to ‘like having dated, I don’t know, Prince William…’.
Hot on the heels of Nicole Kidman, who earlier this year confessed to having orgasms on the set of her Babygirl movie, Gwyneth, 52, was also happy to spill the beans on her sex scenes with Timothee Chalamet, 29, revealing how the pair have ‘a lot of sex’ in their upcoming film.
However, while her husband of six years, blue-eyed Glee hunk Brad Falchuk, 54, maybe the one cashing in on the sprinkling of ‘sex dust’ that Gwynnie sprinkles on her smoothies In Real Life, sources reveal that, when it comes to praising her exes bedroom antics, he’s feeling, understandably, a little bit deflated.
An insider says, ‘He typically doesn’t get all that upset when she’s dismissive of him or overly demanding, he just rolls with it. But one thing that always gets him upset is the way she gushes about her ex-boyfriends. She’s very aware that it bothers him, but she can’t seem to help herself.
‘He’s told her he can’t take it anymore and won’t tolerate it much longer. Her TMI confessions about Brad and Timothee and her reminiscing about other men in her life offend him and make him feel small and less than a husband should feel.
‘But she’s completely ignoring his warnings and just seems oblivious.’
When Gwyneth agreed to take the hot seat on the Call her Daddy podcast in 2023, listeners were told, quite literally, to ‘grab your glass of wine’ and ‘take some notes’ because the mic was about to DROP after Gwynnie’s tell-all on her A-list exes, namely Brad and Ben Affleck, who was married to Jennifer Lopez at the time.
And she didn’t disappoint as the internet exploded with her run down of Ben’s ‘technically excellent’ skills, but it was her major gushing over Brad that raised the most eyebrows, with Gwyneth saying they had the ‘love of your life’ type of ‘major chemistry’.
Gwyneth had dated Brad at the start of her career when they first met on the set of Se7en back in 1995. She recalled how it had been ‘love at first sight’ for the pair and, after a whirlwind year-long romance, Brad popped the question a year later.
But Gwyneth admitted it was her ‘immaturity’ that led to the end of their Hollywood love affair in 1997, adding, ‘I had a lot of development to do…it was the right thing at that time, but it was really hard.’
Ben was on hand to soothe the pain, with the couple, who went on to date for three years, hooking up later that year when they met on the set of Shakespeare in Love.
However, when later playing the truly Goop-ified, ‘F**k, Marry or Kill’, Gwyneth chose to do off with Ben, marry her ex-husband Chris Martin – with whom she shares daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 19, with – and jump back in bed with Brad.
But it wasn’t until 14 years after her split from Ben that Gwyneth began dating her current Brad. The couple had first met on the set of Glee, the epic teen franchise for which he was director, back in 2010, but began dating after Gwyneth had ‘consciously uncoupled’ from Chris in 2014 after 11 years of marriage.
And while Gwyneth previously confessed to having ‘the best sex’ of her life after marrying Brad in 2018, she also spoke about struggling with intimacy in lockdown, also joking that their sex life was ‘over’.
And now the source says Brad can’t help but feel that, with all of the talk of her A-list exes, that he is indeed Brad Version 2.0.
The insider says, ‘Gwyneth has always worn the trousers in their relationship, Brad’s so easy going and bends over backwards to make her happy. That’s a big part of why they’ve lasted as long as they have.
‘Brad is sick to death of being this convenient husband. She passes on lip service to him, but her actions say something else. He doesn’t understand why she can’t put him first.
‘She’s always finding out what’s happening with Ben Affleck and talks about other former boyfriends as well. It’s like she’s always comparing him to them. There’s only so much a nice husband like Brad Falchuk can take.’
Brad (Pitt), now 61, later went on to have two very high profile marriages to Jennifer Aniston, with whom he split in 2005, and Angelina Jolie, who he split with in 2016. He is now dating jewellery designer Ines de Ramon.
Meanwhile, Ben, 52, went on to marry Jennifer Garner in 2005 before splitting ten years later and marrying Jennifer Lopez, who he first dated after his split from Gwyneth, in 2022 before divorcing last year.
And now the source says that, while Brad is incredibly successful as a writer and producer in his own right, there are whispers in Hollywood that Gwyneth feels that she never truly landed her ‘golden couple’ moment.
They add, ‘A lot of people chalk it up to her feeling like she missed out on the Hollywood fairytale by not marrying an A-list actor. Even though she’s the first to say she values her privacy, there’s also a big side of her that craves attention. It’s a classic case of the grass being greener on the other side.
'She insists that she wouldn’t change anything in her life, but it’s obvious that there’s a part of her that wonders how things would have turned out for her if she'd actually married Brad Pitt or if she’d gone the distance with Ben Affleck.’
But now, after Gwynnie’s latest comments on Brad and Timothee, who at 20 years younger is her daughter Apple’s crush, the insider says Brad is putting his foot down and won’t be humiliated any more.
They add, ‘The worry is that she’s eventually going to push things past the point of return. As accepting as Brad is, there’s going to come a time when he’s had enough.
‘No husband wants to feel like a second choice and if Gwyneth isn’t careful, she may ruin her marriage and be left totally alone.’
