Way to go Alan Rickman. We're all for juicy behind-the-scenes gossip from the Harry Potter films - even though the franchise ended AGES ago. But this latest revelation makes us feel a bit weird.

The actor, who played Professor Snape in the film franchise, recently revealed at a BAFTA talk that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were NOT always playing themselves in the films. In fact, "small adult with wigs" stood in for a lot of the scenes.

Why? Because the trio were so young when they started filming, and child labour laws placed heavy restrictions on how much they could work per day. They also had a LOT of homework to catch up on between filming - but the films still had to be churned out for eager fans.

The solution? Rickman said that many of his scenes with the characters were not filmed with Watson, Grint or Radcliffe - instead, “in would come the very small adult actors aged 33 with a wig on their heads”.

He added that the whole set was an “organisational nightmare” in the beginning, because “sometimes there were 300 children on set, and at certain points they all had to go off and do some schoolwork.”

Alan also said that of the final scenes from the last film, most of those featuring the actors from behind were the stand-ins. “That ain’t the back of Daniel’s head" he joked.

While that image is pretty amusing (must be the wigs), it's also sort of weirded us out. We feel duped by this sorcery, JK Rowling.
