Harry Potter star Robbie Coltrane, who played Hagrid in the eight-film franchise, has been hospitalised after falling ill on a flight.
The 64-year-old actor was flying from London to Orlando, Florida for an actual Harry Potter convention when he was taken ill with severe flu-like symptoms.
Paramedics were at the landing gate when the plane touched down and took him to hospital for overnight observation and treatment.
It’s also thought Robbie’s co-star Michael Gambon – also known as Dumbledore – was on the same flight, although no-one knows whether he stayed with his friend or had to go on to the convention.
It comes just after Gambon’s new TV series Fortitude hit UK TV screens – a series that is already being described as Lost meets *Broadchurch *but with polar bears. Oh, and his character totally manages to say the words ‘Peter Pettigrew’ in a non-Harry Potter context, which is amazing.
We’ll keep you updated on Robbie’s condition just as soon as we hear how he’s doing. Good well soon, Hagrid.
