Harry Styles could be the next One Direction singer to go solo following the news that the boys will be taking a break in March.

As Niall Horan confirmed last night, the band will go on hiatus next year – but assured the fandom that the boys “are not splitting up”.

However, the Sun reports that Harry is already being schmoozed by record label execs who are hoping to secure his solo career.

“Harry has always been One Direction’s most popular member and it’s obvious that we want to secure him – he’s a global superstar,” a Sony insider told the newspaper.

“Zayn will get to release an album first, as he left the band earlier, but the most excitement is about what Harry is going to do.

“Everyone wants to know what his solo material will sound like, there’s also a lot of pressure to get it right.”

And that’s not all – a Hollywood career also beckons for Hazza after legendary producer Harvey Weinstein met him earlier this year and found him “super-charismatic”.

He’s also been song-writing under the radar for years, and is suspected of being the mysterious ‘Mick Greenberg’ credited with writing tracks like Alex & Sierra’s _It’s About U_s. Plus he did that song for Ariana Grande not too long ago.

So it’s not Harry we’re worried about in the wake of the 1D split. Nope. We’re actually deathly scared for Niall. What’s the biggest Directioner going to do after his bandmates leave him?

Excuse us while we put our head on our desk and sob for humanity.
