First ever issue (1999)

Nineteen years ago, the question on everyone's lips was 'who the heck's going to replace Denise Van Outen on The Big Breakfast?' So, who else should we feature on the first issue of heat but the answer to that very question - Kelly Brook - with her new TV husband Jonny Vaughan.

Charlotte's transformation (2016)

After undergoing surgery to get rid of a bump on her nose, Charlotte Crosby unveiled her transformation in heat. Charlotte says: "Massive congrats on your 1,000th issue. heat readers have always been so supportive. Thanks for being there for all my big moments."

A star was born (2002)

Big Brother 3 heralded the reign of reality TV's most-loved contestant ever, Jade Goody. The Bermondsey belle stole our hearts with her expert knowledge of geography (anyone up for a trip to East Angular?), her dalliance with fellow housemate PJ, and her naked declarations of "am I mingin'?" during verruca-gate.Tragically, Jade passed away in March 2009, aged just 27, following a battle with cervical cancer.

BB's Helen Adams: "We had to hide from the paps" (2001)

Chatting to heat about her infamous cover with Big Brother boyfriend Paul Clarke back in 2001, she said: "It was very surreal and funny, but I'm glad it was heat, which I've always read. Posh opens up (2000)

A year after marrying David Beckham, Posh was (and still is) the most famous woman in Britain - and heat was the magazine she wanted to speak to. Her weight was the topic du jour, after she was labelled 'Skeletal Spice.'"I did look bloody awful," she told us in a very honest chat where she also revealed she'd almost been cast as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider after meeting the director (for real).

BB's Nikki Grahame: "I never dreamed I'd be on the cover of heat" (2006)

Chatting about her cover with then-boyfriend Pete Bennett, Big Brother's Nikki said: "I've always loved heat and never dreamed that by going on Big Brother, I could be on the front cover. I thought I might get papped coming out of a nightclub drunk in Spotted!"

Arg and Gemma declare their love (2012)

Their on/off romance goes back a whopping six years, and this was their very first shoot as a couple. At the studio, they seemed like a perfect match. Gemma told us: "We're like magnets. We've just got that chemistry," while Arg revealed it was the best sex he'd ever had. Blimey!
