Some sad news has come out of Hollywood - Hilary Swank has called off her engagement to Ruben Torres.

The actress was spotted without her ring while watching the 2016 French Open at the weekend and also deleted her engagement announcement from her social media accounts.

Her representative confirmed to People magazine that she is no longer planning to marry tennis player Ruben.

Hilary, who was previously married to actor Chad Lowe for 10 years until 2007, announced she was to marry Ruben after dating him or a year.

Revealing the happy news in March, she tweeted: “Went on a hike and this happened! I am so happy to announce the engagement to my dear Ruben.”

Ruben asked Hilary to marry him whilst out on their romantic hike while they were attending the BNP Parabis Tennis Open in Palm Springs, California.

After first getting together in July last year, the former couple made their red carpet debut five months later at DuJour’s kick-off party for Art Basel in Miami.

A number big American stars have recently experienced heartache - Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, Kylie Jenner and Tyga, and Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have all recently split.
