Oh-em-geeee! Holly Willoughby has opened up about how presenter Ant McPartlin reacted to the news that she will replace him on I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! this year.

The blonde bombshell will take over Ant's presenting role on the show this winter as he continues with his year out of showbiz to recover.

As the This Morning presenter prepared to head to Australia to present I'm A Celebrity alongside Declan Donnelly (who recently welcomed his first child Isla Elizabeth Anne into the world), she revealed to The Daily Mail that Ant is "happy" the replacement choice.

“He was part of the discussion from the off. He’s happy that I’m looking after it until he gets back. It does help that we all know each other.”

Ant & Dec: Friendship

Ant previously revealed his friendship with Dec started in 1990, when he sent him a Christmas card and invited him to a football match. He said: "And that was that. It just happened immediately. We clicked. We'd spend all day making each other laugh and annoying everyone and quoting Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer lines to each other."When their parts were written out of Byker Grove, the boys vowed to stick together. Dec told Weekend magazine: "We made a pact. We said to each other, 'Look, whatever happens, I'll always be there for you and you're never in this life on your own or against the world – you've always got a mate looking out for you."Even though they work together, Ant & Dec make sure they go out together at least once a week – and even live three doors apart in London!Dec said: "It's our choice to socialise outside work. And we both get to go to work with our best mate every day. And that keeps our feet on the ground."Ant added: "We love each other, definitely."

Ant & Dec: Britain's Got Talent

Establishing themselves as the busiest presenters in the country, Ant & Dec signed up for Britain's Got Talent in 2006 – and a year later signed a two-year golden handcuffs deal with ITV, which was thought to be worth £40 million.

She also admitted that it's going to be "weird" for her to present alongside Dec, as she's used to only presenting alongside her This Morning and Dancing On Ice co-star Phillip Schofield.

“I think it’s going to be much weirder for Dec. I mean he’s only ever worked with Ant,” she added.

It seems that Holly also sought advice from her presenting buddy and long-term friend Phillip over taking the I'm A Celebrity job offer. She said: “When it comes to TV, Phil gives really good advice…He laughed at the thought of me freaking out over the bugs." Awww!

Holly said in a statement: "I couldn’t be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure. I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery.

"These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit...Honestly, I’m a huge fan of I’m a Celebrity and actually feel like I’ve won a competition to go and hang out on my favourite show!"

We wish her the best of luck with the presenting role!
