What’s better than the star of a soap having a baby? The star of TWO soaps having a baby!

Emily Symons – who’s best known for playing Marilyn Chambers in Home And Away for 26 years on and off(!), and also starred as Louise Appleton in Emmerdale in 2010 – has welcomed a baby boy with her partner Paul Jackson.

The 45-year-old actress confirmed the exciting news that she had become a mum for the first time on Monday with a statement from her agent.

“Emily Symons and Paul Jackson welcomed a beautiful little boy into the world, and mother and baby are both doing well.”

In June, Emily spoke to Australia’s New Idea magazine about her struggle to conceive.

“I cry through all the scans, every time I hear that heartbeat, but they're obviously tears of happiness. I just can't believe it!”

Emily and Paul – who already has three children from a previous relationship – have had a number of unsuccessful IVF attempts, and called the whole process “gruelling” and “soul-destroying”.

“We had to kiss a lot of frogs before we got this one!”

And what a lovely frog/baby we’re sure it is!
