However much you stare at that John Lewis advert, it’s clear that Christmas isn’t a shining puffball of kind, sparkly joy to everyone. Especially not, it seems, to Danniella Westbrook, who is considering a move to one of England’s cheapest areas after recently admitting that she's lost her Kent home and is living in sheltered accomodation.

The 41-year-old is thinking about moving to Walton, in Liverpool, where homes can sell for £25,000. The former Eastenders star spent time in the city while filming for episodes of Hollyoaks this year, and is said to be planning a long-term move to the area.

One of Danniella’s friends told the Daily Star that the actress likes the city because the people there are ”friendly” and ”genuine”.

And it looks like a fresh start is just what Danniella needs – **after admitting her relapse on cocaine following thirteen years of being clean, Danniella revealed how tough her year had been on This Morning: "This year has been the worst year of my life. 'I’ve lost all work, we’re in a bedsit, I go to food banks… I messed up"

And over the weekend, the star announced that she is quitting Twitter over the death threats and “constant abuse" she's recieved on the site.

Let's hope next year's a better one, Danniella.
