Former Hollyoaks actress and reality star Stephanie Davis gave birth to her son Caben-Albi George Davis on Jan 13th, after a difficult pregnancy dogged with rumours of paternity tests and deleted Twitter spats.
However, just as everything seems to have settled down - with the new mum saying on Instagram: "I couldn't imagine life before him or without him... I am so lucky to have him" - social media trolls are claiming it never happened.
If this sounds familiar, it's because when Steph announced she was pregnant on Twitter last year, before rapidly deleting the evidence, nobody quite believed it was true. Apart from the fact that the reported father, model Jeremy McConnell, appeared to question the validity of her pregnancy claims (by committing the ultimate sin of quotation marks around the word pregnant. Burn), a lot of Tweeters appeared to doubt Steph too.
One said: "You're not even pregnant. We're all just waiting for the inevitable ‘miscarriage horror’ story. You're a mess."
Lovely.
Apparently, the fact that she's had a growing pregnancy bump for nine months, culminating in the birth of a child still isn't enough to convince some people.
"Made up name. Made up baby!" said one commenter on her Instagram post. Another suggested that the fact Steph hasn't yet organised a paternity test means she isn't sure who the father is: "All we see is u putting it off n off makes u look like u are lying!"
Or, maybe, she's just pushed another human out of herself and needs some time to recuperate?!
Steph herself has hit back at people who believe Jeremy is not the father in her latest OK! interview: "My son is one hundred percent Jeremy’s baby – and a paternity test will prove it. That’s in the process of being arranged, but any tests that happen will be dealt with privately."
We hope people just leave her the hell alone while she adjusts to beinga mother - and wish her the best of luck with gorgeous little Caben-Albi!
