Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she was nearly replaced when she first joined the cast of Friends.
The actress was between sitcoms, and producers were on the verge of replacing her when she was unable to commit to the series.
Speaking at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, Jen said: "Friends came when I was off doing Muddling Through… So there was a period where I had to stand out of the photographs for the group shots, and I had phone calls from girlfriends saying, 'I'm auditioning for your part in Friends.'"
Luckily, producers took a gamble and it paid off (thank goodness!).
"They just took the chance that Muddling Through would fail after the [ten] episodes they picked it up for, so I just started doing this back-and-forth from Sony to Warner Bros for two weeks."
Also, apparently bosses want Jen to play Monica and Courteney Cox to play Rachel.
But the Cake actress revealed: “Unbeknownst to each other, I wanted to play Rachel and she wanted to play Monica. It worked out perfectly."
Bit of a ’Sliding Doors’ moment, no?
