We’d like to think of ourselves as the outdoorsy type, though tbh our idea of slumming it is probably more akin to staying at a Travelodge than camping in the wilderness.

But that’s exactly what our celebrities – including favourites Larry Lamb, Scarlett Moffatt and ab-tastic Joel Dommett – are doing in the I’m A Celebrity… jungle.

And now Medic Bob McCarron has sparked fears that there could be a PLAGUE of killer funnel web spiders descending on the camp, after the team found a record EIGHT of the deadly critters hanging out.

“The funnel webs are the most dangerous spider in the world,” Bob explained.

“There is an anti-venom and of course none of the celebs have ever been bitten by them - a couple of crew have been bitten in the past.

“In fact this year in one of the camera hides we found eight. That’s the most we’ve ever found in one day.”

The deadly spiders, which can kill someone in just 15 minutes, were discovered near the celebrities’ beds in the Murwillumbah camp.

But the horror doesn’t end there. A deadly brown snake was also found lurking about.

Bob, who looks like a trustworthy chap to be fair, explained: “Normally we don’t get these - we haven’t had one for 15 years. They prefer open paddocks.

"And ours is a rainforest. Well last week we found one in the top helipad. They are very vicious snakes.”

A show insider told The Mirror: “This is really worrying because they are not normally found on set.

“Producers are being extra careful to make sure the celebs don’t get harmed.

“They are making camp their home and will soon get used to their surroundings. But a deadly creature would be devastating for the show.”

Eek!
