James Arthur has taken to Instagram to share a picture of his bandaged nose following a procedure to break it back into place.

James had previously given his fans a heads up about the op, writing on Twitter: "I’m in hospital waiting to have my nose broke back into place."

He then shared a black and white picture on Instagram following the surgery.

In the image caption James left a warning to his fans about staying out of trouble, revealing the reason he had to have the procedure in the first place. He wrote: "Stay outta trouble kids…just had my nose put straight after many years of in being on one side of my face due to one to many scuffles as a teen lol (sic)."

Fans were quick to wish James a speedy recovery on Instagram and Twitter, with James taking time out to reply to some of their questions.

Speaking to The Sun, the former X Factor winner went into more detail about his reasons for having a nose job: "I do have to get an operation on my nose. It’s bent and it is causing congestion.

"They are going to break it and put it back in place. It’s all my years of fighting – too much fighting as a young guy.

"I’ve been punched in the nose too many times. I’ve been putting off the operation."

TBF, it does sound pretty horrific.

He did reveal that while it is for medical reasons, he doesn't mind sprucing up his appearance a bit, adding: I got my teeth done. It’s an ongoing thing. I am working on them constantly. I got veneers."

Nothing wrong with a bit of cosmetic TLC, James hun.

You do you.
