Just seven months ago, Simon Cowell dumped James Arthur from his record label, following a war of words that ended with Si saying, “Somebody should have told him to shut up and just put the records out.”
Now, James exclusively tells heat the pair recently healed wounds with a heart-to-heart phone call. “Simon was very kind and understanding, and said he’s been in dark places himself,” James says. “It was a very enlightening conversation.”

Earlier this month it was reported that Simon had invited James to come watch The X Factor, and heat can reveal that it was Si’s brother Tony who played peacemaker. James now admits he “totally understood” why he was dropped, after he got in loads of Twitter wars (with the likes of Lucy Spraggan), and was accused of homophobia and made references to terrorism in a song.
“He didn’t really need tell me where I went wrong, I already knew how stupid I’d been.
“You can’t be seen to condone a guy who was doing immature things.”
