Jason Manford has been forced to defend himself after a furious social media post in which he slammed the killers in the Paris terror attacks as “cowards” caused his Facebook profile to be removed by site bosses.

At least 140 people were murdered in the French capital on Friday night in six separate attacks in the form of shootings and suicide bombings which were carried out near the Stade de France football stadium, a theatre and at restaurants around the city.

After learning of the horrific news, comedian Jason wrote an angry Facebook post, which read: “Fking cowards. Slaughtering innocent unarmed people for what? Families and children enjoying life, theatre, meals? Not an army vs army you fking cowards.

“For what? In whose name? Are you doing this in the name of your god? Cos I’ve got news for you, if you think your ‘god’ is gonna reward you for this type of atrocity then your god is a massive c**t.

“I hope you are all caught and murdered in a similar agonising way you f**king scumbags.

“You are an embarrassment to humanity and a st stain on all of humanity. You will never defeat us, we are too strong you utter btards.”

The message and Jason's profile were removed for breaching Facebook’s guidelines but screenshots of it were shared on Twitter.

The star was sent messages of disgust with one person branding him “Islamophobic”.

Another unimpressed tweeter wrote: “Normally I’d agree but going on a self-indulgent rant while my countryfolk die? No. Nope. Not Ever.”

However, Jason jumped to defend his words, writing: “It was on my own Facebook fan page. I was sharing my opinion online like everybody else.”

He added: “I’d say the same no matter what religion. My track record is proof enough I simply dislike extremists. As we all do.

“You’re obviously very upset so will leave you to it. I apologise if I caused you any more upset on such a horrible evening.”

Jason’s Facebook page was reinstated hours after his original post but without the angry message.
