She recently said “it’s time” for her to get back out there and start dating – almost four years since her second marriage ended. But Jennifer Aniston’s friends are worried that she’s about to go looking for love in all the wrong places, following reports that she’s getting friendly again with her ex, musician John Mayer.
According to insiders, Jen’s been back in touch with the notorious bad boy, who she previously dated from 2008 to 2009. And while she insists it’s nothing serious and – if anything – she’s just up for a bit of fun, we’re told her pals are telling her that, instead of wasting her time with a proven ladies’ man, she should instead focus her efforts on looking for good eggs only.

When they broke up, it left a lot of unanswered questions for Jen, because she wanted more.”

She added that she has certain requirements for a future partner, saying, “The ease at which the conversation flows the first time, that’s kind of a good indicator. Confidence, but not a cockiness. Humour, please. I beg of you. Generous, kind to people. You know…very few necessities required.”
But while insists she’s fairly easy to please, her friends would disagree. Instead, we’re told, they think she goes looking for love in all the wrong places; and despite saying she’s now ready to meet someone now, they’re convinced that her gravitation towards her 44 year old ex – who was widely rumoured to have messed Jen around and rather rudely said "I need to be 32" about their break up – proves she’s not taking her search for love seriously. Rather than rekindling things with someone who they think is toxic for her, they’d much prefer her to be open to dating someone with a lot less baggage.

“It’s fairly obvious that Jen’s craving some excitement,” says our source. “For all her talk about being open to dating a regular Joe, that simply doesn’t do it for Jen in the long-term. She admits that the most intense relationship she’s ever had was with John and that’s something she’d like to recreate, but it’s frustrating for her friends to see her stuck in this rut. Jen is still extremely set in her ways.”
