There’s nothing we love more than a genuine celebrity friendship. There’s just something special about two iconic movie stars popping round each other’s mansions for a cuppa. And so, recent pics of Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Aniston out at the theatre and visiting a retreat have made us very happy.
Jen, 55, and Sandra, 59, were seen at The Retreat at Split Rock in Connecticut – a wellness clinic that specialises in facial rejuvenation procedures – before supporting mutual friend Sarah Paulson in her Broadway show Appropriate. And while the pair have been friends since the ’90s, a source tells heat that Sandra has been leaning on Jen even more after the death of her partner Bryan Randall last year.
“She has an amazing support system, and everyone has been pitching in to help her since Bryan died. But of all her friends, Jen is probably the one she’s been leaning on the most,” we’re told.
“Jen has such a nurturing side. She isn’t one of those people that just says, ‘Let me know what I can do’, she jumps in and does what’s needed. She’s constantly checking in on Sandra, sending her thoughtful gifts, inviting her over for dinner and away on little getaways to lift her spirits, and – in those really hard times – showing up to just sit with her in her grief.”
Jen is a big advocate for spiritual wellness and enjoys meditation, journalling, and various holistic treatments. We’re told it was her idea to whisk Sandra off for some me-time.
“Now that things are slowly starting to settle a little for Sandra emotionally, Jen thought they’d both benefit from some pick-me-up treats together,” says the source.
In August 2023, a statement was released announcing the death of 57-year-old Bryan, who had secretly been battling ALS [motor neurone disease]. The pair had been dating since 2015, and raised Sandra’s adopted children Louis, 14, and Laila, 12, together. Our source says Jen has been a huge support throughout this difficult time.
“She just has a knack for making everyone feel important and is always the first one to step up to the plate,” we’re told.
“That’s exactly what Jen’s been doing for Sandra for the past year, and she really has been a rock. Their bond goes way beyond trivial things like the Hollywood social scene, or the latest plastic surgery fad. They’re incredibly close friends with a deep connection.”
