She’s not had the best of luck with guys recently, but heat can reveal that Jennifer Lawrence finally has something to smile about – she’s been secretly dating US TV star and comedian Aziz Ansari since the start of the year (she kept that quiet). And it seems that Jen, who’s been good friends with Aziz for a while, may have found her perfect match.
The pair were spotted on a Valentine’s date at The Commodore restaurant in Brooklyn and according to eyewitnesses, they “looked really loved-up”. An onlooker said, “They were showing each other stuff on their iPhones while chatting and laughing.” The spy says that Jen and Aziz sat at the bar, drinking wine and eating mac ’n’ cheese, fried chicken and nachos and “they got a barman to take their picture on Jen’s phone”. Cosy.
Incredibly, to make their date in New York, Jen flew over 2,700 miles from Los Angeles, where she’d spent the previous night watching Adele in concert (along with Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry). It seems Jen’s got it bad.
“There’s a real attraction between Jen and Aziz,” an insider tells heat. “There’s no way she’d have flown across the country to spend Valentine’s with a guy she doesn’t have feelings for. Jen knows people expect to see her with someone like [her past co-stars] Bradley Cooper or Liam Hemsworth, but Aziz is more down to earth. He makes her laugh like no one else and she adores him.”
