We hate it when that person in front of us nabs the last dress in the sale, so we know how Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are feeling after missing out on buying the New York Mets baseball team – for a cool $300m.
The singer announced last week that she and former baseball player Alex were “so disappointed” after spending the past six months bidding for the team, which eventually went to billionaire Steve Cohen, who has even deeper pockets.
But according to insiders, the couple’s failure to land the deal has had unexpected repercussions, by putting them both in a “pretty foul mood”, which is a massive turn of events after spending the majority of lockdown loved up in the Hamptons with their blended family – Jen’s 12-year-old twins Max and Emme, and Alex’s daughters, Natasha, 15, and Ella, 12.
And sadly, all the negativity has had a knock-on effect for their future wedding plans.
“Jen and Alex are going through a rocky patch,” says an insider close to the pair, who got engaged in 2019, but were forced to cancel their dream Italian wedding earlier this year due to the pandemic.
