'Merseyside Police can confirm a report was received of an assault'

Jeremy McConnell's reportedly being investigated by Merseyside Police over claims he assaulted a woman in Liverpool last week.

According to The Sun, police are looking into the claims made by a woman in Liverpool on March 9th; although Jeremy denies any wrong-doing and no arrests have been made at this time.

A complaint was reportedly made on March 9th with the alleged female victim providing a polcie statement.

A police spokesperson said: "Merseyside Police can confirm a report was received of an assault at a property on Thursday 9 March.

"Officers were contacted on Sunday, 12 March and an investigation into the incident is on-going.

"At this time no arrests have been made."

A rep for Jeremy defended him, saying: "Jeremy denies any wrong doing, however he is fully cooperating with the police in their investigations."
