The Jeremy McConnell – Stephanie Davis – baby saga could be about to come to a dramatic conclusion after he took a DNA test on This Morning. This morning.
Jeremy hit back at Steph while appearing on the show, accusing her of "commandeering the public" against him.
But he did express the wish that he was the father, saying: "I hope I am the dad. I just want to sort it."
"I think she's waving it. She's trying to make me look like the bad guy and it's not the case.
"The son 110% could be mine.
Steph's baby, named Caben-Albi Davis, was born on January 13 of this year.
Prior to appearing on This Morning, Jeremy hit back at the reasoning behind his name.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: "Regardless of the name, if she met a fella on a night out and named the baby after him then it’s disgusting and hurtful.
"If that’s my child, he’s been named after a guy she met in a club and I’ll be calling him that for the rest of his life.
"I wish she could have waited until after the DNA test.
"It doesn’t matter what the name it, it’s the principle."
Also while appearing on This Morning, Jeremy spoke of his and Steph's relationship, saying: " I wasn’t used to any of that and I was probably immature. I've learnt... it's something you have to go through and we did go through a lot."
He also added: "There were certain things I wasn’t happy about. She told me that personally that she was with other people."
He said that his relationship with Steph was "toxic" and that: " I never once said I wouldn’t [want to be the dad] what kind of man would do that?
"Maybe my silence was seen as weakness but that's not the case."
There was talk of a contract that Steph's legal team have created. They weren't allowed to discuss it on the show, but Phil said he wouldn't sign it himself, and Jeremy agreed.
