Former TOWIE star Jess Wright has opened up exclusively to Closer about the stress of planning a wedding during the pandemic, after already having to change her wedding date once.

Jess was planning on marrying her fiancé, William Lee Kemp, in Mallorca earlier this month, but due to Covid restrictions has had to postpone it, with a preliminary date of September now in place.

“It's not been nice,” she told us. “It's just been a constant battle of, will it or won't happen? And that's not what it's supposed to be like when you get married. So we've kind of lost all of the run up to our wedding, we've lost all the excitement. We didn't get an engagement party, and some of our hens and stags had to cancel.

“So yeah, it's just been rubbish.”

After Amy Childs and Sam Faiers filmed this scene and it had aired, this was the only thing the nation was talking about, with salons across the country starting to offer the beauty treatment so fans of the show could replicate their idols and be a true Essex women.

And speaking of which of her former TOWIE co-stars had made the guest list, she continued, “I didn't extend the list to a massive amount of TOWIE people because of COVID restrictions, we had to cut it down.

“So if I'm totally honest, it's very small amount [of TOWIE cast] but I think when it comes to getting married, especially abroad, people understand that it's a very, very personal day. And you know, you don't have to have loads and loads of people there to make it special.”

But fear not – Jess is still good friends with plenty of her former co-stars and says, “I'm still good friends with Gemma, we speak quite a lot. And obviously, I've always been close to Danielle and Fern and Sam and Billy.

“We've always got that bond, that will never be gone, really, because we went through so much together.”

Despite admitting to feeling “depressed and frustrated” during successive lockdowns, Jess has used the time productively by getting into great shape, along with a helping hand from Simone Thomas’ Wellness plan and supplements.

“I'm at an age where I think my physical and mental health, like everything, it's so important at this point in my life. So [lockdown] just seemed like the perfect time. And when I was gonna like kind of tackle anything like from the inside that needed a health kick, my skin or whatever it might be.”
