Jesy Nelson has been targeted by a cruel internet troll who told her to “kill” herself after her band Little Mix cancelled their concert.
The group pulled out of two shows in Ireland this week and Jesy worried fans beforehand when she burst into tears on stage in Dublin, saying: “I’m so emotional!”
She was comforted by her bandmades Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall and told them: “I don’t know what’s wrong with me!”
Many fans shared messages of support on social media but one unimpressed person wrote on Instagram page: “Kill your f*cking self.”
They added: “Fat! Whale.”
The star’s fans came to Jesy’s defence and told her they had reported the user to Instagram bosses.
One commented: “Stop hating on someone you barely know she hasn’t got time for your BS grow up.”
Another wrote: “Guys don’t even pay that person any attention. Don’t tag them in comments because it’s letting them know that they’re being noticed.
“Just continue reporting their comments and I’m sure Instagram will handle it soon.”
Jesy cried on stage just hours before Little Mix cancelled their gigs in Belfast, with the announcement of the cancellation coming just minutes after the doors opened for one show.
A statement from their promoter Aikens read: “We regret to announce that both Little Mix shows at the SSE Arena will not take place today due to Jesy being unwell and not able to perform.
“Please hold on to your tickets – we hope to be able to make a further announcement on possible rescheduling later today.”
A post on the band’s Twitter page read: “Little Mix have unfortunately had to cancel both of their arena shows in Belfast today.
“Sadly Jesy is unwell and unable to sing, and as a result both the matinee and evening shows are cancelled. Little Mix would like to apologise to their fans.
“Ticket holders should hold on to their ticket and await further news.”
