Despite Harry’s giant pile of gold just chilling in Gringotts bank, it turns out the boy wizard wouldn’t have had to put his fortune towards tuition, as J. K Rowling has revealed that Hogwarts was NOT a private school, after all.

One fan tweeted the Harry Potter author after getting caught in an intense debate with her pal over the cost of tuition at the magical school.

JK, (who has a track record of being a Twitter BOSS!) replied to the curious fan saying: “There's no tuition fee! The Ministry of Magic covers the cost of all magical education!"

J.K Rowling is a vocal Labour supporter, and has found herself caught in several Twitter rows and debates before after openly expressing her political opinions.

Also in her Twitter Q&A, Rowling revealed that Luna Lovegood’s birthday is the 13th of February (add it to the diary, superfans) and that Newt Scamander – protagonist of the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, written by the Hazza P author - is a Hufflepuff.

Finally some Hufflepuff glory!

The film starring Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston is due for released in cinemas next year.
