Why won’t Jodie Kidd be joining Chris Evans on Top Gear? She thinks it would take over her soul. Which seems to be a pretty intense reason. You know, we don’t think it would be that horrendous. But we suppose the hours could be pretty lengthy.
In an interview with the* Telegraph* car mad Jodie said she’d only recently turned down an offer to join the BBC car show and explained how she felt it would be too much of a strain.
“If I were to accept Top Gear it would be completely all-consuming,” mum-of-one Jodie said. “I love doing all the different things I am doing in my life at the moment.

“Top Gear is the most brilliant show on this planet but it would just take over your soul. That would be it. Through ups and downs and lefts and rights I have got to an amazing place where everything is finally balanced, and balanced for my family too.”
Jodie, 36, also revealed she felt “greatly honoured” that she had been asked to fill the big shoes of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
She also spoke fondly of Chris, saying: “[He] is going to completely turn the show around. He's going to Chrisify it. It is going to be so interesting to see what he does.”
It’s not known who, if anyone, will join Chris on the show when it starts again.
