I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp host Joel Dommetthas reportedly bagged himself a big TV job fronting ITV's new entertainment show The Masked Singer.

It comes after reports claimed ITV were prepping Joel to become 'the next Dermot O'Leary'.

A source revealed to The Sun, "Joel has impressed head honchos at ITV and they think he is the perfect fit for this zany show.

"They’re hoping he can help make this new series a hit, especially after The X Factor and The Voice have failed recently to bring in the big audiences".

The Masked Singer is a format based on the Korean version of the show, titled The King of Mask Singer. It sees celebrities anonomously dressing up in wacky and wonderful costumes in front of a live studio audience, a star-studded panel and the nation.

The true identity of the singer is only revealed when they are eliminated each week from the competition.

After the show was bought by FOX in the US and featured Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy on the panel, ITV decided to buy the show as it was a HUGE hit across the pond.

However, whether the show will last in Joel's capable hands is another story, as he revealed in 2016 to Define Arts that the TV shows he hosts do not last.

He said, "Everything I do gets cancelled after one series, so that becomes edgy! Bring The Noise was amazing, cancelled… Reality Bites, everyone really enjoyed, cancelled.

"TV is really hard, so I made a conscious decision to focus on what I really love, and that’s stand-up. Now when stuff does get cancelled, I don’t really care as much, you’re just onto the next thing".

Joel is yet to confirm whether he will host the show or not.

Hollyoaks' executive producer Bryan Kirkwood has teased the whodunit storyline "will play out for a couple of months" which means Jennifer will probably have a break from filming. Does this mean she'll have time to go into the jungle? We sure hope so.
