If we ever imagined a celebrity spat we would never have dreamed of it kicking off between Joey Essex and Victoria Beckham.
But that’s just what’s happened after Posh said she’d be happy to forget her Essex roots.
The fashion designer, who is originally from Harlow in Essex, recently said: “I’d like to forget the Essex bit. It’s not a very nice place.”
It didn’t take long for the former Spice Girl’s comments to get back to some of the stars of The Only Way Is Essex and Joey was one of the first to voice his disappointment.
He told The Sun: “I can’t believe Posh Spice has slagged us off – she is one of us, she should be proud to be from Essex.
“After all, she was the one who invented the Essex pout and now everyone here is doing it.”
He added: “I haven’t got a clue what Posh Spice is going on about when she says our home is not very nice. Posh needs to come for a proper Essex night out with me and see what it’s like.”
Joey wasn’t the only TOWIE star whose cage was rattled by Vicky B – Lauren Pope also spoke out in defence of her home county.
She said: “People say we’re all about big hair and fake tan. But that’s not just an Essex thing. And what’s wrong with wanting to look nice?”
