Vanessa Paradis, who was in a relationship with Johnny Depp for 14 years, has penned a letter dismissing the claims that he hit his wife Amber Heard as 'outrageous'.
A handwritten letter, published by TMZ reads:
"Johnny Depp is the father of my two children, he is a sensitive, loving and loved person, and I believe with all my heart that these recent allegations being made are outrageous.
"In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years. Sincerely, Vanessa Paradis."
Johnny and Vannessa's daughter Lily-Rose has also spoken out amid the claims, posting a throwback of her Dad on Instagram with the caption: "My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know, he's been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same."
Vanessa's statement comes after Johnny Depp and Amber Heard confirmed that they would be divorcing following a short 15-month-long marriage - just days after Depp lost his mother.
Amber has since alleged that Johnny was violent towards her by throwing his phone at her face - an incident which left Heard's face bruised in pictures and was visable when she arrived to court proceedings.
In court documents obtained by ABC news, Amber stated "I live in fear that Johnny will return to [our home] unannounced to terrorize me, physically and emotionally. There also have been several prior incidents of domestic violence with Johnny, in particular there was one severe incident in December 2015 when I truly feared that my life was in danger".
