According to reports Johnny Depp could face up to 10 years in prison for illegally bringing his two dogs - Pistol and Boo - to Australia. Yes, actual jail time.

Mr Depp, who is currently filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, got himself into a bit of a pickle earlier this month when he travelled with his two Yorkshire terriers into Oz via his private jet - allegedly failing to declare the pups and breaking all kinds of quarantine laws the country has in place.

Earlier this week an Australian senate committee was told that if it does go to court, the Oscar-nominated actor could receive a 10-year sentence or a maximum fine of AU$340,000 (£172,000). Either way, that's a HUGE ouch.

Also that day, the pilot of the private jet thought he was going to have a chilled, routine trip, flying a super-celebrity across the world. But nooo, the pilot could also face up to two years behind bars for his 'role in the situation'.

With officials supposedly referring to the case as “very serious”.

Although quarantine laws should always be taken seriously, the culprit to snitching on Johnny was the internet!

His two pooches appeared on social media before the authorities warned the dogs would be put down unless they were flown out of the country within two days.

HOWEVER, Johnny's pal Mick Doohan, five-time motorcycle world champion, told Courier Mail: "To be honest I think he thinks it’s quite humorous...

“He’s a humorous type of guy, I think he’s just disappointed about how it's been relentless.”

And in other hopeful news: a publicist for the film star denied there were any problems, telling Brisbane Times: "I can't go into detail on our filming schedules or the movements of individuals but I can tell you that nothing in that report has any relation to reality."

Poor Pistol and Boo. Shame on you Johnny for putting them in that situation. Not cool.
